The content of silicon in the electrolyte will reach the optimum effect at a certain point. As the content of SiO2 in the colloidal electrolyte increases, the pore volume, pore size and porosity decrease, and the cavity in which the colloidal structure aggregates decreases, resulting in the formation of condensation. The glue is relatively hard, difficult to cut, and the glue is separated. The internal resistance of the colloidal electrolyte increases, the diffusion rate of H+ and S042- ions decreases, and the charge and discharge of the battery also decrease accordingly. In theory, the SiO2 content in the electrolyte should be as low as possible to obtain the best porosity; it must be high enough to keep the colloidal structure stable, but the SiO2 content is too high, the battery capacity is low, and the electrolyte viscosity is high. It is difficult to fill. Patent technology at home and abroad usually uses a gel content between 4% and 10%.

Under the condition of different content and other conditions, the smaller the particle size of SiO2 particles, the better the dispersion uniformity, the larger the specific surface area, the higher the reactivity, and the closer the distance between the rubber particles, the better the thixotropy, but The particle size of SiO2 should not be too small. When the particle size of silica is less than 5 nm, the gelation time is short, the gel strength is large, and the thixotropic property is poor, which easily causes hydration stratification; however, when the particle diameter is larger than 50 nm, the gel strength is poor, and the gel cannot be Stable existence. Generally, the gas phase SiO2 has a particle diameter of 10 to 30 nm, and M5 can be selected.
 
 
 
Gas silicon needs to meet the requirements
 
 
 
The gas phase SiO2 suitable for the colloidal electrolyte should have a reasonable particle size with uniform distribution.
 
 
 
The content of SiO2 should be greater than 99.8 %;
 
 
 
The content of impurity Fe2O3 is less than 1.0 × 10-5;
 
 
 
The content of HCL is less than 5.0 × 10-6;
 
 
 
The content of Al2O3 is less than 1.0×10-4;
 
 
 
Tamped Density = 50 g/L;
 
 
 
The compact density is approximately 120 g/L.
 
 
 
These parameters all affect the quality of the colloid.

The oxygen generated by the positive electrode is absorbed by the negative electrode through the pores reaching the negative electrode.
 
 
 
The main component of the colloidal electrolyte is a functional compound with a particle size of nearly nanometer. The rheology is good, and it is easy to carry out the liquid filling of the lead storage battery. After the colloidal electrolyte enters the interior of the battery or is charged for several hours, it will gradually gel, and the liquid electrolyte will be transformed into a gel. The surfactant is added with various surfactants to help resist gelation before filling the battery. It helps to prevent the sulphation of the plates after filling the battery, reduces the corrosion of the grid, and improves the reaction utilization rate of the active materials of the plates.
